Mullens, Marshall & Co. was a stockbroking company in the City of London. The company traded under a variety of names from 1786 to 1843 when it became Mullens, Marshall & Co. until 1921. For 200 years from the appointment of Benjamin Cole as the first Government Broker in July 1786, the senior partner of Mullens, Marshall & Co. acted as Government Stockbroker. The formal title assigned to the senior partner of the firm was “Broker to the Commissioners for the reduction of the National Debt”. During this period the company was one of the leading City brokers, enjoying close relations with the Bank of England and the Stock Exchange in relation to its activities in the gilt-edged market. It also had a number of private clients.

In 1921 the company merged with another City stockbroker called Steer, Lawford & Co. to become Mullens, Marshall, Steer, Lawford & Co. In 1935 the firm's title was shortened to Mullens & Co. In 1986 the company was taken over by the merchant bank SG Warburg.
M. M. & Co. and S. L. & Co. overprints are quite common on both Queen Victoria and Edward VII 6d and 1/- Contract Notes. M. M. & Co. overprints can also be found on the 1d lilac stamp and the Edward VII 1d red.
