The only information I could find on this company has come from the invoice pictured below. In 1863 Newberry, Blake & Hatcher were a firm of linen drapers, silk mercers and haberdashers. The company had a warehouse in Manchester and an outlet in Taunton, Somerset, which sold hosiery, gloves, shawls and mantles.
At some point Newberry left the business and security overprints without this name exist on both the large and small 1d Inland Revenue stamps.
